Miniature horse at Lane Foot Petting Farm
Looking for something interesting to do with the children during the school holidays?
Lane Foot Petting Farm is a small petting farm in Littleborough also known as the charity Pastures New, they retrain and rehabilitate ex racehorses mainly, but also have miniature horses, sheep, goats, pigs and chickens, which are all rescued.
The charity asks for a £2 donation per child, which includes a tub of feed to feed the animals, extra tubs £1 and and donation for adults are warmly received. All the money goes to helping Pastures New look after the animals.
Located in Hollingworth Lake Country Park. Visitors can park in the Lake Visitors Centre Car Park and walk to the farm. (in the opposite direction from the Lake) through the wildflower/picnic meadow, over the wooden bridge and then follow the stream through three kissing gates (single pushchair and wheelchair access), or park in Littleborough centre car parks and walk through Ealees - please note there is no vehicle access directly to the farm. Bring your wellies!
Open daily through the school holidays (except Saturdays!) 11am until 3pm.
