Three young women taken to hospital after car flips

Date published: 28 March 2018

Three young women have been taken to hospital after their car flipped and collided with a lamppost and a tree on Manchester Road shortly before midnight on Tuesday (27 March).

Two women in their late teens and early 20s were taken to Manchester Royal Infirmary with back pain, and a third passenger in her early 20s was taken with a leg injury.

All three women had managed to escape the vehicle without the aid of the fire service, who attended and made the vehicle safe.

The car, a silver Toyota Yaris, had flipped and collided with a tree and lamppost after it was initially thought the vehicle had collided with a house close to Tomlinson Street, just after the junction of Bolton and Manchester Roads.

A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police confirmed: “We were called at 11.45pm to reports of a collision between a car and a house, which turned out to be a collision between a car, a lamppost and a tree. The car was by the tree on its roof.”
