Thieves steal white Audi A5

Date published: 21 March 2018

A white Audi A5 has been stolen from its owner’s driveway in Castleton by thieves.

Madeeha Sheikh says two men stole her husband’s car from their home on Chamber House Drive during the early hours of Saturday 10 March. They did not enter the house, but used devices to gain entry to the Audi.

She said: “I have spoken to the local businesses in the area for CCTV footage and have also carried out door knocks in the local area. The residents that have CCTV cameras outside their properties have been very helpful in providing me with some footage.”

After viewing the CCTV footage, Madeeha believes the men had been watching their house for several hours before returning to take the car, which has tinted windows and a private registration plate (S111RRE).

She continued: “The vehicle was stolen by two men. One man is seen driving the Audi A5 slowly down Crescent Road while the other male is walking alongside. The man on foot appears to get into a grey Golf that is parked on Ennerdale Road and both drive off with the vehicles. At this point, we are unaware which direction they have headed towards.

“Both men had been seen earlier on CCTV camera walking down Crescent Road at approximately 1.28am before coming on to Chamber House Drive.  They stand at the end of my neighbour’s drive and see that our living room lights are still on before they appear to walk back round on to Crescent Road heading back to their vehicle (grey golf) parked on Ennerdale Road.”

“They return at approximately 3.00am to steal the car.”

Madeeha added: “I would be very grateful if you have a CCTV camera outside your property and are able to view it to see if it has captured the two males, and their grey Golf between the hours of 1.00am and 3.30am on Saturday 10th March 2018.”

A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said: “Shortly after 9.45am on Saturday 10 March, police were called to Chamber House Drive in Rochdale to reports that an Audi A5 had been stolen.

“The theft is believed to have happened at around 3am that morning.

“Anybody with information should contact police on 101, quoting incident number 774 of 10/03/18, or the independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.”
