Beech House School

The Senior House Swimming Gala was held this year at Castleton and there were a lot of hard fought races - even Mr Hardy enjoyed his swim! The eventual winners were Jupiter, and the trophy was collected by their House Captain, Mia Greenwood.

In the Senior Department, Aryan received their Bronze award for 20 merits and Gabrielle El-Hage received her Silver.

In the Lower Prep, Arabella Hey, Eesa Ghalib, Tyler Mhuzha, Kaiden Engleke and Almas Zaidan received their Red Rainbow Award.

Students from Year 3 and 4 attended the ISA Under 9 North of England Water Polo finals at Middleton Arena. The team was made up of Lauren El-Hage, Shu Yu Zhau, Camilla Zebedee-Howard, Maxwell White, Cristiano Bernales, Yumna Rana, Jasmine Salman, Imaan Afzal and Haider Khan.

The team played 5 games, which were varied between the shallow and the deep end. The children were a credit to themselves and the school as the majority are not strong swimmers and are not confident with swimming in the deep end.

Unfortunately, we did not win any of the games we played but the effort the students put in was admirable and they all really enjoyed themselves.

Although a few goals were scored against us in matches, the effort made by the students, in particular the ones who volunteered to go in net. These students were Maxwell White, Haider Khan and Camilla Zebedee Howard.

The House Point totals for the week are: Neptune 25, Saturn 13, and Mercury 6.

Pupil of the Week Certificates were awarded to:

Nursery – Inshirah Muwahhid

Reception – Gabriella Nangle

Year 1 – Tyler Mhuzha

Year 2 – Yahya Tahir

Year 4 – Camilla Zebedee-Howard

Year 5 - Archie Mayer
