St Patrick’s RC Primary School received a visit from a very special visitor, Rochdale born actress, Jessica Lord.

Victoria Lord, Head of School said: “Jessica, who plays Lola in ‘The Next Step’ currently shown on CBBC, visited the school on Friday 8 December.

“She talked to the children in assembly about her aspirations and how she made her dreams come true.

“Jessica then went on and answered questions in the classrooms.

“Our favourite question was ‘did she ever feel like she wanted to give up?’

“Her answer… ‘you have to fight for want you want, believe in yourself, work hard and your half way there’.

“Jessica moved to Canada from Rochdale when she was six, now thirteen years on she has stayed true to her roots and kept her fantastic Rochdale accent.”
