St Peter's School Harvest for Rochdale Foodbank
The generous pupils at St Peter’s Church of England Primary School, Kingsway, have been thinking of those less fortunate than themselves this harvest season after donating an abundance of food to the Rochdale Foodbank.
Headteacher, Aelred Whelan, said: “The children have been talking and learning about the importance of sharing and remembering all the good things that God provides for us.
“As part of this celebration, the children were asked to donate food for the Rochdale Foodbank.
“Our very generous families showed huge support to this worthy cause and all the donations will go directly towards helping others in our local community.”
The food, which included 12 boxes of non-perishable items, will be distributed to some of the town’s neediest families.
Foodbank co-ordinator Margaret Wight said: “We are very grateful to the children and their families for their generous donation and appreciate all the food.
“We have had a fantastic donation and love all the pictures they have sent too. We thank them very much.”
