Beech House Year 3s on their trip to Blackpool Pleasure Land
A nervous teacher and seven excited Year 3s left Beech House in the minibus with great anticipation of what the day would bring on their trip to Blackpool Pleasure Land.
The overall plan was to keep together at all times so that nobody would get lost in the mayhem of the attractions. This proved to be an ordeal for the teacher in charge. (He’s never counted ‘one to seven’ so many times in one day, ever.)
On the first ride one burst out crying, and another did the same on the second ride. On the third ride one did not want to take part so the teacher and her watched. These same patterns where some pupils were on the rides, and others watched, continued for most of the day.
In the mirror maze at the half way count, one child was missing. Horrified, they headed back out of the maze and as instructed the child was waiting at the entrance.
Two of the bravest pupils went on the ‘Plane ride’ whilst the others watched them in admiration.
Lunch proved to be a mammoth of a task; the pupils ordered their own lunch with the £6 voucher provided. However, the biggest obstacle was finding a large enough table for eight people and opening the tomato ketchup sachets.
The pupils were a credit to themselves and their parents by the way that they conducted themselves.
After lunch, we continued on more activities and re-visited the mirror maze whilst the non-participant cooled himself down in the water fountain (within sight of the teacher) It was a good job that it was a nice day as it enabled him to dry off.
Overall, it was an enjoyable but tiring day in which the pupils conducted themselves admirably. I was very glad to get them back to school safely.
