Top quality entertainment to raise money for action group

This Sunday (6 July) will see the latest event by the Ding Quarry Action Group aimed at raising funds and awareness in the fight against re-opening Ding Quarry.

Top entertainment is promised including Elvis impersonator Steve Storm and top comedian Jimmy Cricket and there will be food available. The event will be hosted at St Vincent's Church Hall on Caldershaw Road in Norden between 1pm and 6pm.

Dave Thomas, Chairman of the Ding Quarry Action Group said: "This promises to a great event and an opportunity to continue to raise awareness of our campaign. We are grateful for Steve Storm, a top class entertainer and European Finalist for his Elvis impersonation, who has agreed to perform for us, also Jimmy Cricket will be putting an appearance in."

There will a raffle, with some high quality sporting memorablia and other top prizes.

The group also be updating people on their campaign.

Mr Thomas continued: "For anyone who thinks that Ding Quarry is not going to reopen, I will tell you that it is a distinct possiblity unless we work togther against this set of dangerous proposals. After our Family Fun Day, a tribute to Freddy Mercury and our regular meetings, this is set to be a huge success. We need your support though and look forward to seeing you all on Sunday."

There will also be an exclusive souvenir stall, where Ding Quarry Action Group T-shirts, Mugs, Caps and posters will be available.

Copies of the group's rolling petition will also be available to sign and take away.

Tickets are on sale for £5.00 each.
