Police in Rochdale are joining forces with Crescent Radio to launch a new show.

It will be broadcast on the first Thursday of each month from 3pm, starting this week (3 July).

officers from the Rochdale North and Rochdale South Neighbourhood Policing Teams will visit the station to discuss a range of issues.

Inspector Carol Wright of the Rochdale South Neighbourhood Policing Team said: “I am confident that this partnership will be beneficial for the whole community. Most people are concerned about crime, and this new show will hopefully encourage a healthy two-way flow of information between police and the audience.”

Inspector James Troisi of the Rochdale North Neighbourhood Policing Team added: “By hosting this show we can help to ensure that listeners get all the information they need and that police are given honest feedback in order to be even more effective.”

The officers will provide regular updates on what is being done in different areas to tackle crime and anti-social behaviour.

In addition, listeners will have the opportunity to phone in to discuss issues affecting them and give officers feedback.

Duty Manager for Crescent Radio, Zia Zaman, said: “Having a monthly show on the station is a great way for police to engage with communities across Rochdale and address their concerns as part of neighbourhood policing. I am confident our partnership with them will go from strength to strength over the coming months.”
