Kats Dance Academy donates £500 to Heywood Foodbank

Date published: 01 August 2017

Kats dancer Eve Iddon and Kyle Briggs Williams have presented Father Paul Daly with a £500 cheque for the Heywood foodbank after local dance group Kats Dance recently entertained crowds at St James’ Church Hall.

Performing in front of two full houses with a packed programme of energetic dance, the group have shared the profits equally with the foodbank and their own community events team, enabling the dancers to stage similar community-based events in the future.

The Heywood Foodbank is an independent Foodbank run under the umbrella of the St Vincent de Paul Society (SVP), an international Catholic organisation which works to alleviate poverty in the local community.

Speaking after the presentation, Father Daly said: “I’d like thank Kats Dance for their donation. To benefit financially from the enthusiasm and passion of youth is great. These young people are a credit to Heywood; they clearly show commitment and deserve much success in their future endeavours.”

Michelle Fradley, owner and lead instructor of Kats, said: “After staging these two great shows, it is a pleasure to be able to share the rewards with a local community group.

“The dancers did themselves proud and are delighted that through their efforts they have raised much-needed funds for a deserving local cause.”
