Date published: 13 July 2017

A fire in a garage in a row of derelict garages on Bowness Road in Middleton was attended by three fire engines from Heywood, Blackley and Chadderton on Tuesday (11 July).

Firefighters used a hose reel and a thermal imaging camera to tackle the blaze, positive pressure ventilation fans to clear the smoke, and damping down to make the area safe.

Firefighters notified GMP as they believed the cause of the fire to be deliberate.
