Fire in Warwick Mill, Middleton

Fire crews were called to a fire on the ground floor of Warwick Mill in Middleton on Tuesday (11 July).

Four crews attended from Heywood, Philips Park, Chadderton and Blackley at around 2.42pm.

The cause of the fire has yet to be determined, but it has been extinguished using two jets, four breathing apparatus, two specialist fans, a thermal imaging camera and lighting.

A spokesman for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue said: “The fire has been extinguished. There may be some smoke trapped, so don’t be alarmed if you see some.”
