Two men flee scene after van collides with lamppost on Edenfield Road

Date published: 11 July 2017

Two men in their early 20s were seen fleeing after a blue Renault Kangoo crashed into a lamppost at the junction of Edenfield Road and Woodhouse Road in Norden at 5.50am on Tuesday (11 July).

In addition to knocking down the lamppost with an ‘oncoming traffic in middle of road’ sign, the van also ploughed into a BT box.

Councillor Peter Winkler has reported both issues to Rochdale Borough Council and BT.

A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said: “No arrests have been made. Enquiries are ongoing. We are appealing for witnesses so anyone with information should contact police on 101 quoting 0300 of 11/07/17.”

Rochdale Council has been contacted for comment.
