REAG join Lowerplace governors for a clean up
Date published: 09 July 2017
Members of the Rochdale Environmental Action Group (REAG) joined the governors of the Lowerplace Primary School and cleaned the area around the school on Saturday.
They cut the intruding thorny bushes on the passage leading to Kingsway, which the children, their parents and other park users walk through while coming to school.
Ghulam Rasul Shahzad OBE, Secretary of REAG and also a governor at the school, thanked the members of the governing body, staff of the school and the residents for "coming out on a nice, warm, sunny and bright Saturday to improve the environment around the school".
He said: “The Borough of Rochdale is a beautiful town with a very rich history. With our small efforts and spending few minutes on cleaning around our properties and businesses will make it more beautiful.”
