Kat's Dance Academy toe tapping dance show

Date published: 05 July 2017

St James Church Hall in Heywood was full to capacity as proud parents, family and friends enjoyed two nights of dance during the first ever Kat's Dance Academy full show.

A full programme of dance saw all age groups, from aged six in the Starburst group through to aged 15 in the Seniors perform a wide variety of choreographed dance routines encompassing all genres, including tap, ballet and hip hop.

Michelle Fradley, owner and dance teacher at Kat's, said: “I am so proud of the what the dancers achieved. They put on two faultless nights of energetic and passionate dance that everyone clearly enjoyed.

"This was our first ever full show of this type and the team could not have delivered a higher standard of performance.

“I would like to thank everyone who helped in any way. My fellow teachers, friends of Kat's Dance and of course, the dancers themselves.

"It takes a lot of effort and hard work over many weeks to make a show like this a success, working together we achieved it.

“The dancers thoroughly enjoyed the experience, as one of the younger dancers, aged nine asked 'can we do it again next week'?"

The audience raised over £1,100, which will be shared between Kat's Events Team to help fund public displays and the Heywood Foodbank.

Thread Shed, a clothing company located in Heywood Market, organised a Fashion Night at the Albany which raised £440 and helped with the costs of staging the show.
