Catering jars of peanut butter dumped in Ashworth Valley

Date published: 03 July 2017

Catering jars (1kg) of Kirkland peanut butter were fly tipped on Ashworth Road, on Sunday.

Rochdale Council enforcement team disposed of the peanut butter jars on Monday (3 July).

A spokesperson for Friends of Ashworth Valley said: “Many thanks to Rochdale Council for their speedy response.

“Enforcement officers have been given evidence.”

A Rochdale Council spokesperson said: “Rochdale Borough Council were made aware of the fly-tipping of numerous jars of peanut butter, our inspectors visited the site today, cleared the site and gathered evidence to take appropriate action.

“As ever fly-tipping remains one of the council’s top priorities and we will focus on making sure those who carried this out are held accountable.”
