Hamer Community Primary School

Date published: 01 July 2017

On Thursday 29 June, the Community Cohesion children went along to the Town Hall in Rochdale to deliver their speeches. This has been part of some ongoing work with children from Marland Hill, Lowerplace and students from Rochdale Sixth Form College. The children as ever had excellent behaviour and made us all feel very proud.

Also on Thursday 7 KS2 children attended the IPLCN dance festival at Spotland. After weeks of rehearsing the performance went brilliantly. As always, the children were incredibly supportive of the other schools and showed real Hamer spirit, cheering and encouraging each other. Well done!

On Friday 30 June Miss Mullane took 4 children to the Spotland cycling competition. This is a year-ly IPLCN event where the children compete in cycling races and agility. As always, the children did the school proud with their exemplary behaviour.

A little reminder that the children taking part in the sponsored walk to Hollingworth Lake need to wear blue clothing and bring a £2 donation – all money raised will be going to ‘Guide Dogs for the blind’

A reminder for parents who have children with special needs or a disability the first Rochdale SEN and Disability Information is taking place on Wednesday 5 July from 10am to 2pm and 3pm to 7pm at Rochdale Cricket Club (OL11 5BH). It’s for parents and carers to meet up with other parents and find out about help that support services can provide. It’s free and fun.

Next week will be the last week of before and after school clubs. As always, thank you for your continued support and attendance to these clubs.
