Peaceful protest march against grooming to take place on Saturday 10 June

Date published: 09 June 2017

A peaceful march to support children against groomers is taking place on Saturday 10 June.

The protest will be meeting at the Alpine Pub on Whitworth Road at 1.30pm before marching into the town centre.

Organiser Scott Fleming said: “It’s all really based on a working person’s right to march for the safety of our children and the persons who covered it up to answer one question; why?

“I’m just a working-class van driver who is sick of people moaning and doing nothing. There is nothing political; it’s all about looking out for our children. Let’s support those poor kids against groomers.

“I’m hoping we are not a nation of talkers as enough is enough: our kids need us.”
