Tony Lloyd "shocked and horrified by the evil attacks in London"

Date published: 04 June 2017

Tony Lloyd, Labour's parliamentary candidate for Rochdale and former Police and Crime Commissioner for Greater Manchester, says he is "shocked and horrified by the evil attacks in London".

Mr Lloyd said: “My thoughts are with the families and friends of those who have died and the many who have been injured.

“Just as in Manchester a few weeks ago, police and emergency services acted with bravery and professionalism in acting to save lives and deal with these appalling acts of terrorism, as well as NHS staff and members of the public who sought to protect others.

“In Rochdale all our communities will stand together in condemning these acts of barbarism. Those who wish to harm innocent people, divide us and attack our democracy will not succeed. We will stand together in Rochdale and the country to defend our common values of humanity and justice, and will not allow terrorists to derail our democracy."
