Date published: 17 May 2017

The Rajasthan Heritage Brass Band will be bringing vibrant colourful style, music and enchanting beats onto the main stage at this year’s Rochdale Feel Good Festival.

They’ll be performing on Saturday (12 August 2017) afternoon as well as other impromptu sets amongst the crowds during the day.

The vividly costumed artists deliver a diverse repertoire spanning folk songs, Bollywood hits, spiritual qawwali and Bhangra beats. Their stage shows are a lively mix of music and dance and they’ve got crowds up and dancing at festivals across Europe, including Camp Bestival where they will be returning this summer.

Rajasthan is set in the golden sands of the barren Indian Thar Desert, with a wealth of culture, tradition and heritage. The band present a living embodiment of the landscape, a spectacular celebration with their music and dance a heady, exciting and hypnotic reflection of this enchanting region.

Mark Widdup, Rochdale Borough Council director of neighbourhoods, said: “We’re fortunate that the Rajasthan Heritage Brass Band is able to join us in our anniversary year for what will be a unique and truly spectacular performance. Their live shows are full of colours and mesmerising dance.”

The Rajasthan Heritage Brass Band will be joined by previously announced headliner Razorlight, Manchester’s Baked A La Ska, The Bright Black, The Karpets, fronted by Tom Hingley, Honeyfeet and the Delphina Kings.

Rochdale Feel Good Festival returns on Friday 11 and Saturday 12 August.
