Date published: 15 May 2017

A 25-year-old man is in a life threatening condition, and a 14-year-old boy is being treated for serious injuries, after a collision involving a car and a quad bike in Rochdale.

Shortly after 8.12pm on Saturday (13 May), a blue Kia Sportage was travelling on Bentley Street and when it turned onto Oxford Way, it collided with a Polaris Predator 500 quad bike that was travelling on Bentley Street.

The rider of the quad bike, the 25-year-old man, and passenger, the 14-year-old boy, were taken to hospital.

Police are appealing for any witnesses to come forward.

Police Constable Paul Joynson of GMP’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit said: “I would urge anyone who saw the collision, or saw the quad bike in the moments before the collision, to get in touch.

“If you were driving in the area and have dash-cam footage from around that time please contact police as you may be able to help us.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Serious Collision Investigation Unit on 0161 856 4741, or the independent charity, Crimestoppers, anonymously on 0800 555 111.
