Metrolink network shut down

Date published: 14 May 2017

The Metrolink network has been shut down because of a control room failure at around 4.00pm Sunday (14 May).

Control room staff have lost visible sight of trams although drivers remain in radio contact, Transport for Greater Manchester (TfGM) said.

A spokeswoman said: "Due to a communication fault, all lines are suspended.

"Ticket acceptance on buses has been arranged. The drivers can still communicate with the control room."

No trams will be running until the issue has been resolved.
