Rochdale is better off without Danczuk as MP
With the confirmation that disgraced former Rochdale MP Simon Danczuk is to stand as an Independent in the forthcoming general election, we look at the many reasons why Danczuk is not suitable to represent our town in Parliament.
1. He knowingly claimed over £11,000 in accommodation costs for two children who did not live with him - the file is with the CPS following a Met Police investigation.
2. He sent sex messages to a 17-year-old girl who was seeking a job - and then had the brass neck to claim £500 on expenses for 'crisis management' for a 'consultant' to help him deal with the media attention it engendered. The Sun said many of the messages were too graphic to publish, however, messages they did publish included one in which Danczuk asked Miss Houlihan if she wanted him to spank her, and another in which Danczuk professes "I'm horny".
3. He used taxpayers money to employ his then wife, Karen, including an extraordinary amount of 'overtime', despite the fact that as well as supposedly working full time as a case worker for Danczuk, she was working in the cafe (Danczuk's Deli) they owned in Rochdale town centre, representing the residents of Kingsway as a councillor and looking after her two young children.
4. Danczuk employed 37-year-old Nasreen Nazir as a parliamentary assistant. Miss Nazir had previously begun proceedings against him for sexual harassment whilst she was working at a social research company he founded in Manchester, called Vision 21 - the MP’s firm went bust owing £222,000 to creditors, including £113,140 to HM Revenue and Customs.
Danczuk's Deli he owned in Rochdale town centre with former wife Karen also closed owing creditors money.
5. He has a deal with a photographic agency for tipping them off about his movements so they can arrange photographers to be present, then sell the photos on to tabloid newspapers and give him a cut - he even tipped them off about when and where he was being interviewed under caution for a rape allegation so they could photograph him at the police station and sell the photos to tabloid newspapers!
6. He was arrested and spent two nights in police cells in Spain after leaving Karen fearing for her life having violently kicked at a thick glass door until it came crashing down on her, leaving her in a pool of blood and needing urgent medical attention, resulting in 40 stitches in her wounds.

7. Whilst Rochdale was being devastated by floods on Boxing Day 2015, Danczuk was getting drunk (a frequent occurence during his tenure as MP) at a pub in Lancashire with his then girlfriend, Claire Hamilton. Ms Hamilton has since labelled Danczuk a "functioning alcoholic spiralling out of control" and a “self-obsessed narcissist”.
8. Danczuk claimed a whopping £672.50 in parking charges for just four months. This included a single bill for £178.50 on 1 August for parking in Manchester - he was on holiday in Spain for part of this period. He also had a penchant for first class travel, claiming taxpayers' money for over a hundred first class train journeys, in contrast to Heywood and Middleton MP Liz McInnes who always purchased a standard class ticket.
9. He claimed as much as £200,000 a year in expenses, on top of his £74,000 salary, including for things such as £129.99 for a television - and failed to respond when asked to clarify the purchase. He even claimed £2 for a box of tissues on the taxpayer!
10. Not content with milking the expenses system for every penny he could, Danczuk was also profiting from his own disloyalty and sleaze, getting paid for articles published in The Daily Mail and The Sun to undermine his own party.
Added to the Danczuk litany above...
- He admits he has a drink problem (his first wife says he is an alcoholic and has had a drink problem since they met 20 years ago. Former girlfriend Claire Hamilton also says he is an alcoholic).
- He has admitted to having taken class A drugs.
- Claimed to be seriously depressed.
- Used hard core porn.
- Been accused of bullying abuse by his second wife, Karen, and former lover Claire Hamilton.
- Had sex with another woman young enough to be his daughter on his ex wife's sofa whilst his two youngs boys slept in the next room - having consumed two bottles of wine.
- Had sex in his constituency office with a 22-year-old.
- Claims to be a "sex addict". Says that young women are his “achilles heel”!
- Continues to sell his sleaze to the highest tabloid bidder despite claiming to be worried what his young sons will read about him.
