New facility for disabled people opens at Number One Riverside

Date published: 05 May 2017

A changing facility for people with disabilities has been opened on the ground floor of Number One Riverside in Rochdale town centre.

The specialist 'Changing Places' room includes a fully accessible toilet, hoist and a changing bench, enabling people to use the facility safely and comfortably.

Tracey Little, project lead in the council’s adult care service, said: “We are proud to have installed a Changing Places specialist toilet in Rochdale ensuring disabled people across the borough have access to this fantastic facility. I am delighted about this installation, as it will make such a positive difference to the lives of so many people. It’s yet another success story delivered by the council’s adult care service.”

Anyone wishing to use the new facility can request the key from the customer service area at Rochdale Central Library in Number One Riverside. Opening times are Monday to Friday 9am – 5.30 and Saturday 9am – 5pm. Closed Sundays and Bank Holidays.
