Year 7 Boys’ Football

The Year 7 Boys’ Football Team drew 1-1 against Middleton Technology School last night.

Harry Butterworth scored our goal with a cracking half-volley into the top right hand corner in the first five minutes. After that, it was a very close game with Oulder Hill just coming out on top in terms of possession and chances until the closing minutes.

In those final minutes, Oulder Hill had eight chances denied by their amazing goalkeeper who pulled off five incredible saves, one after the other, over a 15 second frenzy in their box.

Middleton’s PE teacher said it was great to see real football played by two teams rather than a series of ‘hoofs’ up the pitch.

These are the boys who played, well done to: Ashton Hines-Whitehouse, Jack Cowen, Frank Bennett, Taylor Crook, Jack Campbell, Harry Butterworth (C), Brieley Gates, Daniel Brine, Mackenzie Davies, Billy Haworth, and Ben Kershaw.

Year 11 Football

Congratulations to our Year 11 Football team on their most recent victory, a 6-0 win over St Anne’s Academy.

Despite some unavoidable late withdrawals, the students who represented the team played excellently throughout, creating numerous chances in both halves and capitalising on several of them. Well done to all involved.
