Families with children of all ages were enjoying the sun in Springfield Park on Saturday.

With playgrounds for the youngest children to the oldest adult there is something for everyone in the park from strolling round the pond and gardens, playing football, basketball or tennis on the fenced courts, and for the more energetic enjoying a run around with friends.

Children played in the sand pit and families took time to picnic on the grass or the many picnic tables round the pond.

The ice cream van was doing a roaring trade as young and old enjoyed their favourite treat.
