There was a full house with standing room only for a performance of the Pace Egg at Littleborough Coach House.
The Curtain Theatre players put on a spectacular show, ad-libbing as usual, making this performance a unique experience.
The audience saw St George slay Bold Slasher, before the Doctor resurrected him, this year with the contents of a bottle of Blond Witch beer!
Beelzebub saw off the Black Prince of Paradine before invoking Little Devil Doubt, whose plea for money did not fall on deaf ears - as the troupe took a collection of donations for Springhill Hospice.
The whole circus of a performance was directed by The Fool and his drum, accompanied by a bugling King of Egypt.
A spokesperson for the Coach House Trust said: "We are always pleased to welcome the Curtain Theatre into the Coach House and I think the full house and extent of audience interaction proves just how popular the annual Pace Egg play has become in the village.
"We never charge entry for this performance, as the Curtain Theatre players give their time for free in aid of the Springhill Hospice and we have an Easter egg raffle, which this year raised £137 for the Coach House funds."
