Woman in a critical condition after collision in Castleton

A 24-year-old woman sustained multiple injuries following a road traffic collision involving two cars on Manchester Road, Castleton. She was taken to hospital where she remains in a critical condition. A 24-year-old man was also taken to hospital with serious injuries.

An investigation is underway and police are appealing for information.

Police Constable Phil Shaw, of GMP’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “This is a very difficult time for the woman’s family and our thoughts are with them.

“I would appeal to anyone who was in the area at the time and saw the collision or anybody with dash-cam footage to come forward.”
