Man found dead on a bench outside Nye Bevan Health Centre

A man was found dead at around 5.40pm on Monday 3 April  - three girls found the man slumped on a bench outside the Nye Bevan Health Centre on Maclure Road.

They went inside the centre and alerted staff who called police.

On arrival, emergency services discovered the body of a 50-year-old man.

His next-of-kin have been informed and there are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances surrounding his death however, officers are keen to speak to the three girls who found him.

Police Coroner’s Officer Bernadette Hatton, said: “While we are not treating the man’s death as suspicious, we are still working to establish the circumstances which led to the man’s death.

“I’d like to stress that these girls are not in any trouble but we just need to speak to them to be able to piece together information.”
