Huge brawl on King Street East

A huge fight took place on King Street East in Rochdale on Sunday evening (9 April).

The brawl began on King Street East before continuing on Tweedale Street.

Residents in the area reported seeing the police helicopter circling the area as numerous police vehicles attended the incident.

A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said: “We were called shortly before 7.30pm to reports of disorder and a large fight between men on King Street East.

“There were reports of baseball bats and knives, but it has not been established at this stage if weapons were involved.

“The group were dispersing as police attended. Officers patrolled the area and controlled the dispersal. A large visible police presence remained in the area following the dispersal.”

No arrests have been made in connection with the incident.
