Confrontation at Number One Riverside

A confrontation between two groups of youths took place at Number One Riverside on Friday (17 March).

Donna Bowler, Assistant Director of Neighbourhoods at Rochdale Borough Council, said: “Our staff dealt with the incident immediately and the young people dispersed very quickly. No one was hurt in the incident and the police have been informed.”

A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said: “Shortly after 4.05pm on Friday 17 March 2017, police received reports that a youth had been assaulted on Smith Street, Rochdale.

“Officers attended and searched the area but there was no trace of the victim or the offenders.

“Anyone with information should contact police on 101 quoting reference number 1410 of 17/03/17 or the independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.”
