Blue Sunday for Aidan Lindridge

Date published: 30 March 2017

Aidan Lindridge, from Rochdale, took part in the Blue Run at Manchester City’s Etihad Stadium on Sunday 26 March to raise funds for North West charity Stick ‘n’ Step.

Aidan, 19, has attended conductive education classes run by the charity since he was seven-years-old.

Stick ‘n’ Step provides free conductive education to children with cerebral palsy, which encourages confidence, independence and mobility.

Football-mad Aidan loves to challenge himself. He is a member of a wheelchair football team, competing in the north west power league, plays ten pin bowling for a British Blind Sport Association team and enjoys playing Boccia for his local club.

Aidan covered himself in glory, as well as blue powder, when he completed the run on Sunday. He was watched by his proud dad Adrian, who has been a keen fundraiser for Stick ‘n’ Step himself over the years, completing Tough Mudder, the LAMM mountain marathon and the Three Peaks Challenge, raising over £2,000 for the charity.

Aidan said: “I have wanted to have a go at fundraising for ages, especially having seen my dad get involved in loads of events to raise money for Stick ‘n’ Step. This run was hard work but I really enjoyed it. I’ll have to start planning my next fundraising challenge now.”
