Liz McInnes concerned about Heywood Santander branch closure

Liz McInnes, MP for Heywood and Middleton, says she will write to Santander after Rochdale Online revealed last week that the Heywood branch is to close in June.

Ms McInnes said: "I have just received notice from Santander that their Heywood branch on Market Place will be closing in June.
"Santander tell me that 57% of their customers at this branch also use another branch, and that 46% of those who use this branch also use online, mobile or telephone banking. I am concerned that they are using this as justification for closing the branch as it clearly means that 54% of customers at this branch do not use an alternative method of managing their accounts.
"If this closure goes through, the nearest branches for Heywood Santander customers will be in Bury, Rochdale or Middleton.
"I will be writing to Santander to raise my concerns about this proposal and the negative impact it may have on many Heywood residents."
