Wildflower seeds being planted at Hopwood Park
Hopwood Park benefitted from the Great British Spring Clean and annual seed-sowing for the wild flower meadow on Saturday (4 March).
Mandie Almond, Secretary of The Friends of Hopwood Park, said: “Yet another well attended event at Hopwood Park, thanks to the Friends of Hopwood Park in conjunction with the Big Clean Event.
“Fun was had by all, especially the children sprinkling their pots of seeds over the wild flower meadow area. It's a pleasure to see so many from the community coming together to better their park environment.".
The Friends were joined by Heywood Senior Section, 9th St Luke's Guides and families with young children, and a couple of families also planted additional fruit trees in the mini-orchard.
Refreshments were served from Hopwood Cabin and £101.82 was raised towards the bus shelter renovation.
