Asian Medical Professionals Support Organisation launched

The Asian Medical Professionals Support Organisation (AMPSO) was launched in the Castlemere Community Centre, Tweedale Street, Rochdale.

The launch was attended by Afzal Khan, Member of European Parliament, former Lord Mayor of Greater Manchester Naeem ul Hasan, Maqbool Malik solicitor, Councillor Allen Brett, Michael Dale, Chairman of the Locality PPG, Christine Mathewson, Governor of Christie Hospital for Rochdale, Humera Haqqani, Dr.Sarwar S Khan, Kashif Ali, Dr Humayun, Dr Abdul Saeed, Dr Farhat Ahmed.

70 members including women, children, SKY44 TV Channel and others attended.

Stage Secretaries were Humera Haqqani and Kashif Ali.

Ghulam Rasul Shahzad recited verses of the Holy Qur'an.

The Chairman Dr Humayun welcomed all distinguished guests and those who attended the inaugural meeting. He thanked all members of the AMPSO for their valuable time, contribution and commitment to serve the local community.

He went through the aims and objects of the AMPSO, which are as follows:

  • To strive to achieve equality and justice.
  • To work with the NHS, medical professionals, similar organisations, patients, authorities and the community to raise awareness about health issues and suggested solutions.
  • To provide a platform to raise health issues affecting the community.
  • Sharing skills, knowledge and experiences to enhance quality of life.
  • To raise awareness of the community regarding NHS services available to them.
  • To provide support to retired medical professionals, their families and the community based on their needs.
