Prior to the half term holidays the Year 5 children attended a two night residential at the Kingswood site at Peak Venture, near Sheffield. They all had an amazing time and their behaviour was fantastic as always. They got to try out a whole range of activities and there were some excellent examples of teamwork, resilience and children conquering their fears. A disc containing photographs from the trip will be put together for each child who attended, these will be a great keepsake to remind them of their experience.

On Wednesday 1 March the children from Miss Begums class attended an ‘Enchanted Woods’ workshop at Touchstones Museum in Rochdale. This links in with their current book - ‘The Tin Forest’. They all really enjoyed the visit and behaved impeccably

On Thursday 2 March we hosted the annual IPLCN dance festival. This was very well attended by local schools and there were some wonderful performances from the children. A huge thank you to Mrs Booth for organising this event, a great deal of effort went into it but the occasion proved it was very worthwhile.

Our children have enjoyed a range of activities on Friday 3 March to celebrate World Book Day. Thank you to Mrs Hoyle for organising this once again. The children have also dressed up in costume or pyjamas in return for a £1 donation to raise funds for Springhill Hospice. We will let you know on the newsletter next week how much has been raised in total.

Please can parents remember to inform school of any changes in relation to your child’s contact form, especially if any contact telephone numbers have changed. It is vital that we have the correct numbers on file to contact in the event of illness or emergency. If any parents wish to add a new adult onto the list of who can collect your child, then this must be done in person at the office and not over the phone.

After an extremely successful event last year, Mrs Terry will be launching Maths Happiness Month with the children on Monday 6 March. More details to follow.

Well done to Mrs Bearpark & Miss Khan’s Class with the best attendance for week ending 17 February 2017.

The Star of the Week and Citizens of the Week awards will return on Friday 10 March 2017.
