Council recruiting spin doctor on up to £30k a year

Rochdale Borough Council is again advertising for a 'communications officer' with a salary of up to £30,480 per annum.

The advert, in The Guardian, says the Council is seeking a skilled communicator "to help shape our vision".

Asked why the council was seeking another communications officer, the Council's communications manager said it was to replace a member of staff who had left.

Asked how much it had cost to place the advert in The Guardian, the comms manager refused to answer and said: "You will have to FOI for that".
