Flying Horse celebrate a decade of live music with celebratory weekend

Date published: 08 February 2017

The Flying Horse Hotel is celebrating a decade of live music with a celebratory weekend (Friday 10 and Saturday 11 February) featuring Boomin and The Pimps.

Owner Ben Boothman said: “There was no-one doing a regular night of live music when we started out, it was bands like the Pimps who really boosted our profile.

“They’re more than a fantastic band: over the last ten years we have become great friends. They performed at my stag party in Caernarfon and their lead singer married one of our staff. They both now live in North Wales and are expecting their first baby.

“It’s going to be emotional as this is The Pimps’ last ever gig together.”

Boomin performed at the Feel Good Festival in 2016 as one of the acts on the main stage alongside The Fratellis and Alex Cornish.

Over the past decade, the 'Flyer' has seen over 1,500 names grace its stage, such as Paul Heaton from The Beautiful South, Simon Friend from The Levellers, The Animals, Tom Hingley from The Inspiral Carpets, and local talent The Hidden Revolution.

Live bands can be seen every Thursday, Friday and Saturday at The Flying Horse.
