Bid to prevent isolation

Date published: 02 February 2017

Do you know someone aged 75 or over who lives alone and needs some company?

If so, a change of scenery and conversation with others could be just what they need.

Contact the Elderly is a charity dedicated to tackling loneliness and social isolation among older people by taking them out to tea parties once a month.

Elderly members get picked up by the same volunteer drivers each month and meet up with the rest of their group at the house of a volunteer host.

Attending the tea parties are completely free and are open to people over 75 who live on their own with little or no contact with family and friends.

The charity is also appealing for volunteer hosts.
