Jolly Carter fundraising marathon raises funds for Springhill Hospice

Date published: 31 January 2017

A 24 hour darts marathon at the Jolly Carter in Middleton raised £1,791.25 for Springhill Hospice.

Regulars turned out in force to support the event, which was organised by landlady Pat Eaves.

Pat said: “We raised nearly twice as much as we had hoped to and everyone at the pub really got behind it.

"We added a race night too which added to the amount we collected and I want to thank everyone who helped us to reach this amazing total.

"It’s a fantastic cause which deserves our support and I am planning to hold another fundraising event later in the year.”

Springhill Hospice Chief Executive, Julie Halliwell said: “I am so grateful to Pat and everyone at the Jolly Carter. It is this kind of community support that does so much to help us to continue with our work.”
