Bottom of Tonacliffe Road to remain closed

Date published: 30 January 2017

The bottom of Tonacliffe Road in Whitworth is currently closed due to repairs taking place to fix a burst water pipe that flooded Market Street.

The closure affects the side closest to Healey Corner with no access from Market Street as a small section of the road has been completely closed.

A spokesperson for United Utilities said: "Our engineers repaired the burst water pipe on Friday afternoon. However, the water had caused some damage to the road so the reinstatement will take a little longer than usual. The road closure will remain in place until this work is complete, probably by mid-week."
