Man taken to hospital after car collides with lamp post

A man in his 30s was taken to North Manchester General Hospital with neck pain on Thursday monring (26 January) after a car collided with a lamp post at the roundabout of Bridge Hall Lane under the M66.

Two fire engines from Heywood and Bury and a Technical Response Unit from Ashton-under-Lyne attended the incident, which happened around 5.30am.

Crews used cutting equipment and lighting to release the man from the silver Toyota Corolla.

A North West Ambulance Service sent a rapid response unit and ambulance to the scene.

Greater Manchester Police was also present.
