Oulder Hill Community School and Language College

Well done to the Under 14 Girls’ Football team who played their final football matches last week at Matthew Moss High School, finishing fourth overall in Rochdale. Congratulations to: Eve Thornsby, Rachael Goulding, Jessica Hughes, Anne-Blue White, Drew Hurst and Maisy Phillips.

The Year 8 Boys’ Football team were unfortunate to be knocked out on penalties in the quarter final of the Rochdale Schools 6 a side Cup Competition.

Oulder Hill were drawn in a tough group with St Cuthbert’s and Middleton Technology. Oulder Hill drew 1-1 with St Cuthbert’s with Ethan Brierley scoring a fantastic solo goal and then beat Middleton Technology 2-0 with Ethan Brierley and Alex Johnson scoring the goals.

As a result, Oulder Hill progressed to the quarter finals where they faced Holy Family.
Oulder Hill dominated the game but the game ran its course and finished a draw (0-0). The game then progressed to penalties with Oulder Hill sadly losing the shootout.

The team were very unlucky and probably deserved to qualify for the semi-finals.

Well done to the following boys on their excellent commitment and effort: Jake Gretton, Spencer Allen, Alex Johnson, Harris Khan, Ethan Brierley, Ethan Kwei-Sutcliffe and Hayden Bell.
