Status 4 All has received a grant of £20,000 to install a compost toilet and electricity power to Status 4 All leisure gardens, based on The Langley Estate just adjacent to Bowlee Park.
Sue Smith, from Status 4 All, said: “Great start to the New Year, we have been successful in getting Viridor funding for a toilet and electricity, £20,000, over the moon.
“This funding will enable us to make this venue more accessible and to open longer hours.
“In 2016 we received funding from Tesco Bags of Help to create a nature trail and funding from CCG Heywood, Middleton and Rochdale to deliver projects to relieve the symptoms of people suffering from mental health problems.
“With other smaller pots of funding we have been able to transform this beautiful piece of land from a fly tipping derelict grot spot to a place of beauty that the whole of the community can enjoy.
“This funding from Viridor will give us a boost to the new year 2017 projects we have planned.
“Thank you Viridor.”
