Steph Chadwick aiming to raise £1,000 for Springhill Hospice by giving up alcohol for one month

Date published: 31 December 2016

Steph Chadwick, from Littleborough, is hoping to raise £1,000 for Springhill Hospice as part of a ‘Dry January’ to kick off 2017.

This means Steph is planning on going without any alcohol for one month from 2 January to 2 February.

She chose Springhill Hospice because ‘they do a fantastic job with mostly volunteers’.

It costs £8,200 pounds a day to keep the Hospice open.

Steph said: “I usually go out three or four times a week if there is a band on, so I thought it would be the ultimate challenge. The seed was sown when a friend told me I was drinking too much, although she has since said she ‘didn’t mean it like that’.

“I woke up in the middle of the night and decided to do it; the lightbulb moment had happened.

“I’m quite stubborn and I won’t let my sponsors or the hospice down.”
