Christmas breakfast at Balderstone Library

Date published: 25 December 2016

Balderstone Library was a hive of joyful activity this morning as people enjoyed a late breakfast of coffee, pastries and festive treats served by Leader of the Council, Councillor Richard Farnell, librarian Justine Bull and helpers.

Councillor Farnell said: "It has been a great day and a huge success. It was pleasing to see so many people turn up. I hope it created a little cheer for people."

Local councillors Daniel Meredith, Lynne Brosnan, Kathleen Nickson and Sameena Zaheer attended, as did Rochdale MP Simon Danczuk.

Mr Danczuk said: "It was lovely to come together on Christmas Day with lots of different and lovely people.

"All credit to Rochdale Council, the staff of the library and local councillors who made it happen."
