Spotland resident Carl Faulkner filmed the recent council meeting at which councillors voted to give themselves a massive increase in allowances.

Entitled Rochdale councillors hit the jackpot, Mr Faulkner has edited the video to include snippets of 'appropriate' information and set it to music.

Publication of the video follows the news on Friday (23 December) that a petition to stop the 34% increase in councillors' allowances being paid out until the number of councillors is reduced from 60 to 40 has topped the 1,000 signature mark.
