Heyrod Brass Band and East Manchester Rock Choir will be performing in a benefit concert for Springhill Hospice at the end of January in Rochdale.
Artists and venue are donating their time for the concert to help raise funds to continue the work of the Hospice, inspired to give their support by the recent break-in to the Springhill Tea Room.
Fundraising Manager, Lillie Winterbottom said: “Jim Owen from Heyrod Brass Band contacted us after reading about the Tea Room break-in back in October. The band wanted to help by organising a benefit concert offering their services free of charge and donating all the money raised to the Hospice.
“St Aidan's then stepped in with the venue and Anthony Clegg, choirmaster for the East Manchester Rock Choir very kindly offered their support.
“It turns out every cloud does have a silver lining and we are incredibly grateful for all the love and support that we have received. We are looking forward to a fabulous concert and hope many people will join us.”
The Brass & Voice Concert takes place on Saturday 28 January at St Aidan's Church, Manchester Road, Sudden, Rochdale, 7pm for 7.30pm. Tickets are £6 Adults, £5 Concessions and £3 Children (under 16).
They can be bought online at www.springhill.org.uk/brass-and-voice-concert, in person from Springhill Tea Room & Gift Shop or by ringing the Fundraising team on 01706 641790.
