Kindness and support for young carers

Date published: 20 December 2016

The Christmas Project has been running for many years and once again young carers and their families are being supported in the festive period by local churches, organisations and individuals.

A spokesperson for the Rochdale Young Carers Service said: "We are very grateful to all who have supplied hampers and festive food to our families. This goes a long way in making Christmas day special for families where illness and disability can make life difficult.

"The young carers also joined in at the Christmas Party at Greenhill Methodist Church were they all had a brilliant afternoon with games and a special visit from Father Christmas.

"Through the kindness of others we have also been able to provide disabled transport for our trip to the pantomime so nobody had to miss out.

"Rochdale Young Carers Service would like to wish all our wonderful supporters a Merry Christmas and a peaceful and happy New Year."
