Sunshine Preschool’s visit to St. Luke's Church, Deeplish
Parents, children and staff members from sunshine pre-school visited St Luke’s church to learn more about Christmas and festival season from the local vicar, Rev Stephen Watkinson.
Sunshine Preschool has been learning about the story of Christmas over the last fortnight.
They were told the story of Christmas by Vicar Stephen Watkinson who narrated “The Characters of Christmas” by Ruth Hearson.
Sunshine parents also participated in the activity which has strengthened the children's knowledge around the festive theme. Revd Watkinson gave each child the book he had read to them to take home.
Revd Watkinson said: “We very much enjoyed having the children from Sunshine pre-school join us in the church to learn about the Christmas story. We hope to be able to build on this exciting link."
Shabina Kauser; Sunshine Preschool manager said: “We are very grateful to the church team for making children, parents and staff so welcome.
“Our visit was very informative and interesting and children were keen to learn more about local church and festival period coming ahead.”
